We have wild quail and turkeys here as well. The house wrens like my workshop and the barn. Last year they nested underneath the workshop, crazy birds!Ohh...I still miss seeing all of those different birds, especially the Cardinals. I used to live in VA. Stephen City, and Winchester. Moved here from Winchester. Just had a flock of geese fly over the other day. Silly geese, they were flying north...lol..we're getting snow a lot this month. We see hawks often. Hear an owl occasionally.. Bald eagles in the mountains. We have the cutest little chickadees, house finches, and of course those house sparrows. Oh, and in the spring we have quail run through our back area just a talking away.
I plan to build some bird houses soon. I have a potato bin to turn into a house for the wood peckers. We have Cardinals in winter, and the Gold finches never leave. I love to see them flitting from branch to branch, they are beautiful. Sometime in March if we ever get sorta normal temps the Robins and Red Winged Blackbirds arrive about the same time. There is always one Blackbird that picks the telephone pole by the house to be his throne. I don't think it's the same bird year after year - probably genetic imprint to pick that post.
@Cynthia12 are there no cardinals in Utah ? I have 3 bird feeders here at home and two down at the beagle club. Just now there were 9 male cardinals at my feeders. It's snowing, and they always become more active at feeding as it is snowing.

Sadly, no.. I see Bluejays once in a great while, further close to the canyons.@Cynthia12 are there no cardinals in Utah ? I have 3 bird feeders here at home and two down at the beagle club. I remember! Florida! Had a pretty male get into the house once. Took a bit to help him find his way back to the door.We don't have cardinals in Wyoming either. I miss those beautiful birds, we used to get flocks of 15-20 at a time in Florida.
Prescious! My son with spina Bifida walked with a walker first. Was pretty excited to start on those crutches! Older now, is in a wheelchair. He does well getting around!Still accurate LOL
