It's supposed to be a beautiful 70* here today! If it happens, that will be the first time this year for seeing that number :D

What's everyone doing today?
70° it's not even that warm here, right now. Y'all sent your cold weather this way. :lau

Just watching my pheasants hatch out today.

When my family went to UK, in Scotland they watched a Border Collie demonstration, and there was a pup like the ones in your video. He did everything the big dogs did- it was amazing. They brought me a little stuffed Border Collie.

Super smart, active dogs but, with my life they would either runaway from home or die of boredom. A cocker would have fallen asleep on the sofa while I did my BYC stuff.
But if I said "Go for walk," or "Where's the ball," it's game on.

(If it makes you feel any better, it's still down in the low 30's at night)

A trip to Yellowstone sounds like the perfect way to spend a day B! Hope you see lots of bears and Fee doesn't get freaked out :)

Thanks for sharing the photo that had the Irma in the background. DH & I ate breakfast in there one morning last year, really cool old place.

Yep, Ken took me to Yellowstone yesterday for Mother’s Day. People on Facebook Group I belong to, Wyoming through the Lens, have been posting photo after photo of bison with their new babies (we didn’t see any), big old boar grizzlies coming out of hibernation (we didn’t see any), Mama grizzlies with their new cubs (we didn’t see any), returning Trumpeter Swans (we didn’t see any), elk and their calves (we didn’t see any), wolves in the Lamar Valley out hunting for critters weakened by winter (we didn’t see any) and deep snow on Sylvan Pass (we saw lots of that). And tourists. Already lots of that. Japanese tour operators and travel agents really need to stop telling people, who have most likely worked years for their dream vacations, that May is the best time of year to visit. It seems so unfair that they don’t really see what the brochures hype and that they are so uncomfortably cold. Most of the hiking trails are slick and snow covered yet. The areas around thermal features are good....there are boardwalks there. But we saw one bus with about 50 people eating their boxed lunches in a wildlife viewing pullout because the picnic tables there were inaccessible. I kept thinking, What if Ken and I saved for years to visit our most wanted destination and most of it was closed? So sad.

Downtown Cody was like driving through a maze with that horse sale! There were no parking spaces anywhere, the side street at the Irma being blocked off added to the congestion, and horse trailers were all over the place! The only other time I see Cody that crowded is over the 4th of July!

We ended up dropping Fee off at the kennel for the day, which actually worked out better for her and us. She’s just not ready yet for an 8 to 10 hour day in the car. So on a whim as we drove into town, we pulled in and asked Lee if they had an opening for a walk-in. She said, “For her we’d make room if we didn’t have any!” Their normal pickup time is 4-6, but she said she’d be there late anyway because she’s getting mid month reports and payroll ready so we could pick her up late. But she did warn us that if it was after 9 we’d have to pick her up this morning. We picked her up a bit before 8 so it worked out great.

I have to eat at the Irma once a month when Kefar Shrine Club holds their monthly dinner and meeting there. I usually try not to. Atmosphere and history is fabulous, but I think the food leaves a lot to be desired! Didn’t get my Proud Cut - place was packed with horse buyers, sellers, and looky-loos.

Over 70 here today too is what they’re saying. Ken is grilling some gorgeous rib-eye steaks on the grill. Last night on the way home we noticed Kenny and Jenny’s lights on, so I sent her a text and asked her if we could swing over a minute. We stopped here, picked up her card and giant chocolate covered strawberries for Mother’s Day, then took them over. She was absolutely tickled. Today we’ll wait until Tam wakes up this afternoon and take over her card and cheesecake. Other than that, should be a lazy, quiet day enjoying the sunshine. I’m hoping to talk Ken into cleaning winter off the deck and getting my patio furniture set up for the season. I also want to talk him into taking the hot tub out of layup, and getting it filled and treated. But that could shoot half the day...maybe tomorrow is a better bet for that task.
