The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

A glimmer of hope! I posted on our Blue Slipper Masonic Ladies’ page about what we were told, and one of them has a Holiday Inn app (among many other hotels) on her phone. So she checked and her reservation is still showing there, so at least maybe the rest of the previously made reservations are still valid.

Hope you feel better, Kelsey.

Things here just got a lot more interesting. September 12, 13th, 14th, and 15th the York Rite bodies have their annual joint Sessions. It’s a 4 day event similar to, but slightly smaller than, our Grand Lodge. Ken is the Grand Secretary for YR Council, Grand Recorder for YR Chapter, and his best friend is Grand Secretary for Commandary. Those are the three bodies. Anyway, Jim and the head of the host group for this year, Mark, also booked the Holiday Inn in Sheridan for this event and next year’s host for Session also booked it for next year at the same time.

So guess who is going to meet us over there in the morning......Yep, and they are not happy either. Ken got texts from both guys tonight. Their registration isn’t open yet, but they want answers before it is. They want to know what happened, why, and what the hotel plans to do to rectify it and prevent a repeat. Now! I may not have to say a word tomorrow - between Ken, Jim, and Mark all I may have to do keep wringing my hands together and moan, “Oh dear, oh dear, oh woe is me!” Who am I kidding - as high as my stress level is right now the only wringing I may be doing will be around Kathryn Brown’s pretty little 24 year old neck! But I think I’ll set my phone to video and then leave it in my purse unseen while it records the events of the day. Evidence for my defense, you know. :lau

Stopped by the Holiday Inn while we were coming home to check on how many rooms we had sold. They looked in the computer and informed us that the event had been cancelled!!? No matter how she tried to enter it, it comes up “event cancelled!” The entire event!!!

I’m so pissed right now. We have to have it there - too short notice to change it. And I’ll bet the event planner has it right, but she isn’t communicating with the front desk, and that desk is where folks have to call to make reservations. I had people tell me they had to book at the Mill Inn or Candlewood because the Holiday told them there were no rooms available.

So we have to go over the mountain to Sheridan tomorrow and find out what the he11 is going on and get it FIXED! Our entire Grand Lodge - cancelled??? I thought my biggest worries were gift bags, table decorations and making sure the ladies’ events were covered. Now I’m so stressed I can’t see straight.
