Holy Cow! I almost spit my coffee when I read that. I have a very small amount of grass but I garden a lot and the bill I paid yesterday was $86. That's sewer, water and trash pickup every week.
We have some of the most expensive water in the area!

Basic level in the winter for us is $125.00. My Boss at work pays over $400.00 because she has a swimming pool

Oh! We pay $65.00 for trash pickup ever two months

Good morning Bob and DMC!
Hi Debby!
Here's a question for you all...yesterday at the grocery store the entire dairy case was empty...no milk, cream, 1/2 & 1/2, nothing at all. There were 2 signs posted, one was that eggs were out (not a big surprise) and the second sign said if anyone needs dairy, an employee would have to get it for them.

Is there a shortage on milk products or is this just something weird going on with my store?
No shortage here.:idunno

Seemed strange to me. Apparently they had stuff, but it was all in the back and had to be retrieved by an employee. Their sign didn't explain anything and neither did the clerk. Just another random bit of weirdness I guess.
Maybe that's their way of controlling how much people buy so there is some for others?

I saw on the news at one point that milk was being dumped because of delivery issues but that wad maybe in April or May. Milk was low at one point but not to that extreme.
I can only imagine a shortage of milk products at the grocery store is similar to the TP shortages. No one at school/work/restaurants to buy the product packaged for big institutions and not enough machinery/supplies to make enough for greatly increased home use. It isn't like you can turn the spigots on the cows off any more than you can tell the hens to put the factory on hold.

The difference between food and TP is that the raw materials for TP won't go bad if not used in a relatively short period of time.

You guys just reminded me I have a water bill to take care of (and I'm really glad it's not as high as your's)!
No water or sewer bill here. The weekly trash pickup is $29/month, it is in the taxes. Frankly I wish the town had not voted for the 5 year contract with the hauler and we (like every other town in the county) had joined the solid waste district. If people want to pay for "curbside" (no curbs in most of the town) that would be their choice.

At our prior house I went to the transfer station maybe once a month (when the 4 recycle bins got full) with my 1 compactor bag. Cost $4. Here I'm not only paying for the pickup service but for the trash pickup of all the people who put out way more than we do. The price is based on homesite value, not how much you put out. We have 32 gallon "barrels", most have 96 gallon. The dang things don't roll well on the loose stone nor in snow and aren't built to be easily carried. I'm sure they work fine for people with short paved driveways to their garages. And when the wind blows strongly in an inconvenient direction, the tops flip up, the barrels get blown over and you know what happens then.
