I have Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs due to hatch Wednesday, moved the AC chicks outside permanently today and am down to 3 hens. Heat took out my rooster and we took care of a hen with a cough that wouldn't go away after she lounged in the dirt directly facing the spray from the mister :rolleyes: We have been breaking all sorts of heat related records this year but the girls get a block of ice in their pool every afternoon and that seems to help quite a bit. @sharron I'm curious about those peppers. if i manage to get a peeper, will take pictures to show, i have blooms on both kinds so hoping i get some fruit
this year has been kinda weird, this is the first year ever that some of my tomatoes have be scalded, yet i knew just what it was, or is, thinking i might need some kind of a shade clothe

going to try to can tomatoes today, have enough to make half whole tomatoes and half some sauce, husband is going to help me since my finger is still cut, better tho, healing really well, when ever i do something like that i usually use my corona ointment on it and it heals fast (been using it since the 80's on myself):D after i feed the chicks will start so everyone have a good day

Sounds like a busy week IM, try to take a bit of time for yourself too. Best wishes for a great hatch!

Sorry about your losses, that would be tough to get them all through such a long hot spell as you've been having.
