The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

That would be a big change for you!
It definitely would and I'd have to be completely convinced that they would stay...I wouldn't sell and move without that assurance. I'm sure it's more likely that I would become a frequent flyer! :)

If they do move, they might find they don't care for it as much as expected. Then they could move back and close to you!

My brother, sister & adult daughter, my adult son etc. have been to Hawaii a few times. I don't go anywhere I can't walk too. In my younger days that meant marathon distance or so. Now it means I go out and get the mail and come right back.

That's why we wouldn't make the move for a long time, if ever! It would be hard, but it will be a great excuse to make frequent trips to the islands! I would have to make some big adjustments to my budget!

I love going to Hawaii, but it's so expensive, getting there is the least of it!

Hi everyone! It's the first day of spring down here (our seasons are a little different to yours). It's quite nice weather wise but it's supposed to cool off again tomorrow.

Our cows are needing to be moved frequently at the moment as they are eating the grass almost faster than it's growing. We do need to reduce our numbers but we need to build some yards first. There are a couple of other jobs on the 'to do' list before them though.

I must take some more photos of the chicks to share. I always forget how fast they start to grow feathers.

The fires are being contained but there is a lot inside of the containment still burning. We have an inversion layer over us and winds blowing the smoke this way. We are going to have 150 to 200 air quality for the next 5 days. That is orange to purple on the map.

Yikes to all that smoke! Do you think the fires will continue for quite some time yet? I sure hope you get a break from it soon.

Hi Jae! We are kind of upside down from each other! I'm enjoying late summer, looking forward to fall, dreading winter and looking forward to spring again! :)

The fire here is about 380,000 acres. It might be bigger since cal fire is not that good at size LOL!

They usually burn a week or two after containment...Hopefully less! Our air quality is bad for the next 5 days

I have to say that fall is my favourite season. As long as the weather doesn't dry up too fast I'll be happy as we had a very dry summer last year, though I will be glad when the ground firms up and I don't have to slosh through the mud. We are also draining our dam currently so that the grass and vegetation can be dug out of it as much as possible so we'll need some rain to fill it back up. We have hills behind us that feed water down to it so it shouldn't take long to refill.

That is a huge fire! How are your chickens handling the smoke? Do you have to do anything special for them?

The chickens are doing fine!

They each laid an egg today too.
