The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I guess one of the things I wonder about with the vaccines...there have been medicines in the past that looked beneficial and then they find out the horrible consequences later. Take Thalidomide for example, at one time it was used to treat morning sickness. When I worked at the state neurological institute, we had a few of the severely handicapped babies due to that.

Guess I'm not 100% comfortable that any long term effects are known at the time they begin administering a Covid vaccine. I'm still up in the air on deciding for myself to get a shot or not.
For me, getting the vaccine will likely be a requirement for being on campus

From what I have been reading, six months to a year. Re infections are said to be rare and may actually be a different strain.

The ones coming out are two shots spread apart and then likely re vaccinated in a year.
So the vaccine isn’t any better than a regular flu shot based on that. So much that I’ve read is based on studies from China. I don’t trust much coming out of there based on the fact they tried to hide all of this. If there are different strains then the shot may not do anything and we could still get sick. I think it’s still too early to tell, so happy I don’t have to make decisions based on my job!

They will know a lot more about the vaccine by the time I can get it though.

I would be in the third group getting it based on age and health

Me either IM. I’ve heard there could be bad side effects.
I think we just don’t know enough yet DMC. Time will tell. There are risks of side effects from darn near everything so it just depends. You always hear about the one because it’s the one or it’s rare ...but the general consensus is that it’s safe.
