The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Debby 😊 still have 3 more weeks in the sling, PT is moving along with stretches and neck stretches that I do at home. When they stretch out my arm, I just want to cry because it hurts. I just keep thinking it will get better over time.

I think you're right, it will get better with time and moving it around (although that must be painful now). :hugs

We are heading out shortly for a small meet the new bride get together but the newly weds won’t be there. They were on their way and the wife got a call she has Covid. So if she hadn’t gotten the call in time she would have exposed us all. I think this is wife #4 for this cousin of my hubby’s. We are having a party without them:lol:I’ve only met this cousin once. I wonder if there will be a #5 wife?:th

That was a close call! Have a good time at the party DMC :D

I am selective…If they are too strong I can’t light them as I will get a headache.
Light them? Heck, I can't even inhale if I make the walk down the aisle they are in wrapped in plastic!

It doesn't help that the commercial has been playing over and over throughout the day.
Another good reason not to have TV service :D

timing cover seeping, transmission pan seeping, front right axle seeping, and the front struts and rear shocks are original.
They said it wasnt necessary to fix at this point but more so to be aware of.
135K miles.
That is a lot of leaking seals! Never had that problem, then again other than DW's '06 Prius I've never had a car go over 130K. Not always because I replaced one at a time of my choosing. The last 2 were hit and totaled (2012 and 2019).

I just keep thinking it will get better over time.
It will!!!! :hugs

I wonder if there will be a #5 wife?
Might depend on how bad her case of Covid is.

That was a close call!
Sure was! I hope no one else at this party is "sharing" with DMC and family.

Mine is a Nissan too. I have to say that it has been a relatively great car. I have almost 200,000 miles on it and it has never given me any problems.

I really appreciate the laugh, honest. I spent the whole day in the ER with my MIL. She fell again, and apparently hit her head this time.
She has a hematoma on her brain. We will know tomorrow whether it will have to be drained. They told me that she has apparently hit her head several times in the past, because she has had healed contusions.
Fortunately, the step daughters are coming in tomorrow to sit with her for a while.
In the meantime, I've brought her 17 year old cat home with me. I'm having to keep her in a seperate room because she has a bad hip. I'm afraid one of the other animals might injure her.

I hope the situation works out, so that she is safe and feels content. It is so hard to lose one's independence.

I hope you have a fabulous visit.
I hope your MIL is okay! You're a very kind and caring person for helping her.
I would say that she is. She has been growing progressively more forgetful, but as she is in her 80s, and not knowing about her falls, we believed it to be age related.
When she fell this week, she swore that she did not hit her head, but when she said she had neck pain and wasn't able to eat, I insisted on an exam. She was surprisingly cooperative. That signaled that something was up too.
I believe that she has been hiding her falls/ injuries because for the last year, we have been trying to encourage her to sell her home and move into a senior living complex or live with family.
She is a very independent, twice widowed lady. She raised her sons alone, and on a secretary's salary, with very little family support. I admire her very much. I know that growing old has been rough on her. I'm assuming that she will be open to living with us, once this issue is resolved. I'm being optimistic about the situation.
She sounds like a very strong woman for being through all of that. It must be very challenging to let go of that independence. Living with family might be an easier transition.
The Sourland Mts (a range of big hills) is where I spent all of my time as a kid - well, the time that I wasn't on the river fishing. They were just across the road that I grew up on. I'd leave early in the morning and not return until dusk. I was raised 'free range'.
The times are definitely different. Not many "free range" children these days.

Are candles the only thing that bother you or are there other scents? I have an extremely sensitive nose. Laundry soap is a huge one for me. I got a free sample with my new washing machine that I used on the guys stinky work clothes. It is so strong that it will probably take a couple washings to get out. I usually use unscented. Many other scents bother me too.
No one had any contact with her or the cousin.
