It'd be a stretch to call them 'cute'. Their claws are pretty scary too!
They do have beautiful fur which is quite valuable. They can vary quite a lot in their colouring. We caught a gorgeous gingery coloured one not too long ago.It looks so nice and soft but I wouldn’t want to pet it.
Haven't been brave enough to try yet! Possum stew seems to be the way to go. DH did pluck it to keep the fur as, if we can collect enough, we can sell it and plucked is how the fiber company likes to buy it, rather than as a pelt. Our neighbour said the wild turkey are good to eat too, but you need to shoot them in a month that doesn't have an 'r' in it (so winter here). Otherwise all the bugs they are eating make them taste a bit nasty. How did it taste Jae?
That will be fun! I hope you get some trick-or-treaters. I love the creative costumes and kids costumes are adorable.I'm curious to see what happens in my neighborhood for Halloween. There are kids around and DH got a few last year when he was working on the house. This is the first time in years I've had to buy candy just in case.
Omgoodness that thing is huge! I'm terrible at putting the food awayI have been going thru cat food like crazy lately. I know we have at least one skunk. We got one about a month ago. I put a camera out in the coop tonight and about 20 minutes later it went off. Hubby showed me a picture and asked if that was a cat. I said I don’t think so. A better video came in not too long later and it was an Opposum. We ended up getting 3. I’ve about had it with the critters.

That's so scary! Calling the police was the best idea and I'm so glad you're safe! Hope you're doing okay though@bruceha2000 is always giving me a bad time about getting up too early but I have a really good excuse this time!
I was sound asleep when the doorbell started ringing repeatedly and someone was pounding on the front door. Looked at my cell phone and it was 12:43am. I went to the door (not opening it!) and yelled 'who is it'. Someone was on the front porch crying hysterically wanting to come in and saying someone was trying to kill them.
No way was I opening the door, I called 911 and the police came out. Nice reaction time on their part! They talked to the person for about 15 minutes and then took him/her (still not sure) away. I don't know exactly what that was all about, no one called me out to talk to them.
So now the 3 cats are freaked out and I'm wide awake and already thinking today will definitely be a nap day! Here's to hoping for a quiet, boring day![]()
Yeah it might catch you running out in your short nightie to get the paper in the morning!
Oh. My. Goodness! That would've been very scary. Hope you are ok.Glad the police responded quickly.
How about some cute photos to distract you?
Here are my oldest cockatiel babies - they aren't inside yet as I'll leave them with the parents as long as possible (about another week), but they are starting to look cute.

And here's my Budda baby and her unfriendly friend. I had trouble getting a photo of Earlybird because she wanted scratches and to try and eat me so she followed me everywhere. Jacky on the other hand moved away if I got too close so basically all I could take a photo of was her butt.

Thank goodness you were able to get an update and a little peace of mind.So about my visitor the other night, one of the responding officers called me last night to explain.
There were a few people from Montana traveling together in a pickup truck. At least some of them (or all) had been drinking heavily and an argument broke out. They dumped a woman's belongings out in one part of Casper and dumped the woman out in another part of Casper. So that's how she ended up at my door, drunk, lost and hysterical.
The police "found" her a bed (I'm assuming it was in the jail) and the next morning put her on a bus back to Montana.
Whew, guess all's well that ends well!
They're lovely fluffy buttsOne day I'll learn not to stick my finger over the lens. I'm working on it honest, but it seems to be taking me an awful long time to learn.

Awe, you got this! Now that I'm out of the sling, they have expanded my range of motion![]()
I think DH just wants to reassure himself the crazy lady didn't get me.
Cats are messy, but it wouldn't be home without them!
We have safely returned from Pittsburg, Pa.![]()
