The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

maybe I'll clean up the parking area - or perhaps not.
Ah, ah, ah!!! You are over 65, not allowed to shovel snow, remember?

I'm not there to catch the posts, but to see he doesn't fall off the ladder trying to get the posts upright. This could be interesting.
And to shove him in the car for a trip to the ER if necessary ;)
But I'm sure that won't be the case.

I'll do my best, you and Sue do the same. Leaving in a bit to go visit the in-laws. FIL was in quarantine until Friday, one of his caretakers tested positive 2 weeks ago so we couldn't visit last Sunday. DW works Mon-Sat so Sunday is the only day we can both go.

Might see her aunt as well. MIL reports she is sleeping most of the time though sometimes rallies. To my knowledge she has no health problems. Given she turned 104 in Nov, I think her battery is just wearing out.

Thanks Debby, Marble. I’ve made these before. The recipe calls for butter but I wasn’t happy with the texture. I substituted oil this time. I like it so much better. They were still warm of course when they were sampled. If they last until tomorrow that will be the true test for me.

I think this change of recipe requires more taste testing...I'll volunteer!

At 104 she's earned some extra sleep :D

Have a nice visit Bruce!

Good morning, everyone!

Debby, I’ll be following your porch saga! Just tell Frankenfoot to be careful!! We definitely want pictures. If you’ve posted any of the new fence, I somehow missed them.

The last thing we’re waiting for is the rails, which I still don’t want. But as I suspected, I was outvoted, especially when Kendra’s aide, Keesha, stopped by to see the house and commented on the lack of them being a concern. She did have one valid point - when Kendra was outside with us at the old place (and when she’s at Keesha’s) she would pull herself up on the railing of our decks and cruise along it. No rails, no walking practice. <sigh>

Nothing planned for today, finally. Our modular dealer is showing our house on the 2nd of February so I’d like to get the hallway walls and the dining room painted before then. But we’re both so tired at this point.

There was some kind of major drama at the Care Center last night. I don’t have details yet but it must have been pretty serious because Tam put in her two weeks notice. She is a single mom, no state aid of any kind (ever), with a mortgage, car payment, insurance, the new furnace, and Evan’s orthodontist to pay, so that wouldn’t have been something she did on an impulse. She’s too responsible for that and she loves her residents in assisted living too much. She’s been there 13 years. But I won’t get details until she wakes up. I’m so worried for her.

Hi Blooie :frow

Yikes, sure am surprised about Tam leaving the care center. Hope she's ok and finds another job soon that she loves.

I'm sorry for the worry Blooie. I hope a new, and better, opportunity comes along for Tam. And soon.
