A belated good morning. Maggie Mae had a major seizure this morning while I was starting up the computer. I've had dogs seize before, but never one of this magnitude. Just returned from the vet's. Idiopathic epileptic seizure AKA we don't know what the heck caused it. Right now she is normal - I am not. @swampfox440 Mark, we drove home in a 'whiteout'.
I hope you Maggie is Ok, @sourland my old grey cat Gracie had one 3 years ago. I took her to the vet. The vet said watch her and go from there, she has not had another, thank God she's over twenty years old and fat as ever.

Beautiful flowers!:yesss:

It sounds very stressful. I'm glad she is better, and that you are home safe.
I hate that our dogs pets can't tell us when something is wrong.

Sour I hope this is the last one she has. Last time I dealt with a seizure was with a human while Sue was pregnant with our first. I had experience with them so I was the johnnie on the spot. It was a grand mall... After the girl was taken to the hospital, I took Sue to the hospital, just to find out she'd been in labor for hours. I didn't sleep well that night and the next morning was crazy (not going to get into it) but two patients with the same names with spouses with the same names makes things very interesting.

Sorry to hear about Maggie Mae Sour. Did the vet put her on medication or is it a wait & see situation?

It's pretty much a wait and see unless something turns up in the bloodwork. I have a prescription for phenobarbitol that I am to fill if she starts seizing frequently. He says that studies indicate that medication use in dogs that seize infrequently is not recommended.

Poor girl :hugs I hope that was a one & done kind of thing. My little Westie suffered from frequent seizures as she got older. It's a hard thing to see.
