The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

What makes a phone obsolete? Other than being 3G of course since that technology is being dropped. But 3G was around for many, many years. Just because the money grubbing phone manufacturers come out with a new model doesn't make the current, and many versions prior, unusable.

I think basements in So Cal are almost as rare as hen's teeth! I definitely never saw one in the 23 years I lived there (starting at birth)

And tornadoes are NOT a thing in California!!!

Maybe it saw all the people with colored hair and went to the beauty shop?
About 10 years ago, Tornadoes were recognized as occurring in California. They are not very strong though and do not travel far.

@bruceha2000 per Verizon, a phone is obsolete when you no longer recieve any, or full, updates, and the manufacturer stops providing security. Usually when the phone is 4 years from the release date, depending on the manufacturer.
Computers are similar for being obsolete. You can still use them but are more prone to being hacked.

Off to check out a new car today to see if it is what I'm looking for!
:frow Good morning Riss, have a great day and best of luck car shopping

Beautiful yard Janie

Yes. Unfortunately. The shelves are looking a little empty here, also. I've noticed that meats (other than chicken) are well stocked, but way expensive!
My brother generally trades me processed wild boar sausage, and deer for eggs. The people down the road trade me vegetables for eggs. My daughter sews for me, for, of course, eggs.
Thank the good Lord, that these girls lay so many eggs. Their feed has gone up about $1 a 50lb bag in the last 6 months. And I don't let them out to range much, with this flu threat, so they are eating more feed too.
Stores are much better stocked here now. It will likely take a bit longer for the supply chain to catch up. We changed the way we shop during the pandemic and the supply chain is slow to adjust.

I will likely be replacing our lawn mower soon. The current one is a 12 year old Black and Decker Electric. I replace the batteries a couple of years ago but the mower struggles to mow the front yard on a charge. It is likely the electric motor and that is too expensive to replace on that old of a mower!

I try to keep things as long as possible and 12 years on an electric mower is a good amount of use.

No I'm afraid of the thrones.
You are afraid the queen will throw her throne at you?
;)

100 degrees is in our forecast for next week.

So, maybe not quite the minute you walk out the door with it.

It is too early for 100°!
It is never too early for 100°F it is ALWAYS a bad time to be 100°F!!

Did you know I actually got a piece of chicken in that soup one time! I figured that it must have been an accident at the factory. :lau
Or a bit of mouse.

I have the repairman coming Wednesday so if I disappear for a few days, you will know what happened.
We'll know that he kidnapped you to be his helper because the company is short staffed?

Computers are similar for being obsolete. You can still use them but are more prone to being hacked.
Or maybe less likely since there are a lot more people using the newer versions of the operating system (ie Windows ™)? Who wants to annoy some people when you can annoy a LOT of people?

You sure the motor can't be rebuilt if it is a problem? The pump for the stupid pool was having issues starting by the fall of 2020 so I took it to a repair shop. IIRC he replaced a capacitor. Electric motors are pretty simple. Maybe a better option than tossing it and spending hundreds on a new one.
