The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, DMC 🦋 I know you are excited for the weekend!
I am!
We have a wedding tomorrow. We aren’t going to the wedding as it’s at 2:00 in a town 30 miles from here and the reception is in Appleton. We are going to the reception. I do not care for the bride but I’ve known the groom and his family for 30+ years. His mom has cut my hair all those years, and my guys.
Good morning DMC, we are 47F here this morning 🌹🥀
It’s 55 and rainy here with a high of 61.

I hope you will enjoy the reception, DMC. It's sweet of you to go, considering you aren't a fan of the bride.
We need some rain here. It is supposed to cool off next week. Down to the high 80s. It has been getting down to high 60s at night. That's a relief.

I'm rehoming a couple of my 15 week old cockerels tonight. I'm sad to see them go.

Especially this one. He is very chatty and curious. I always enjoy his company. It's seems like he will be going to a good family home.

He's a very handsome guy Janie. Glad you have found him a good home.

I told my husband I had a new home for two of them. He said "keep Ryder." (He doesn't pay too much attention to my chickens, so I was surprised he knew his name.)
Then I was cleaning the roost, and Ryder was steadily talking to me.
Two of his brothers will go, and he will stay at least a while longer. He is the most talkative cockerel I've ever had. And that's saying a lot. 🤣

So I got home from the grocery store when there's a knock at the door. I opened it to see some old guy I've never seen before and he wants in the house to see some building in the back yard. Kind of spooked me, he kept yanking at the door which I had already locked. First off, I'm not letting a stranger in my house and second, there is no building in the back yard. I got the impression he was lost and confused. But he kept coming back and knocking at the door so I called the sheriff to come out.

In the meantime, DH gets home for lunch and talks to the old dude and the guy's wife who showed up. Apparently they live a couple doors down, the old guy has Alzheimers and he was mad at his wife. The not-so-happy couple end up walking home.

By then the sheriff's deputy came out and we talked to him. He thanked me for calling. He said last winter a woman with dementia wandered away from the housing development that is around the golf course and it took them 2-3 days to find her in the woods (deceased).

And that's my exciting story for the day. The end.
