The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone. I'm in addition to the everyday chicken chores watering the gardens again today. Harvesting sweet corn and jalapeno peppers today. All of the potatoes and onions are in already. Most of the blackberries have been picked too. It will not be long before we start filling jars with Roma II green beans and bags with zipper cream peas. Have a great new week everyone.

So sorry about your losses Mark.
Good morning, LT. Yum blackberries! I've been thinking of making a blackberry cobbler, but then I think of my husband's blood sugar.

You've already been harvesting but in my mind I thought you were still in the planting stages. I can't keep up! All your produce (and berries) sound wonderful.

Hubby and son were able to get in the fields the last 2 days. They planted what they could. The rest won’t get planted.

Hubby called the crop insurance guy the other day with questions. The wife said he’d just passed away. He was a nice guy and for his customers. His wife and daughter worked with him so we won’t have to find someone else.

Sorry about your insurance guy, it's always tough when you lose someone you like to work with. But sounds like his family will work out.

Glad your husband and son were able to get in the fields at least a little DMC. This year's weather was not playing nicely with all that rain.

We’re not the lone rangers in the weather department. It’s everywhere. It’s affected our other son too. He installs septic systems and he has people calling and wondering when he’s going to get to theirs. Some are understanding and others are not. He is not in control.

It's sure not his fault if the weather is cooperative. I'm sure we'd all like to control the weather once in a while!
