I know what you mean. I always start rinsing and then end up washing by hand. I run the dishwasher about 4x a year just to keep the mildew away.

I run it once or twice a week. I prefer to do them by hand because I really dislike unloading the dishwasher. I always end up having to dry most of the cups and mugs.

I hate emptying the dw that's one of the reasons I don't use it. Mine never dries everything either so then I have to dry too.

Hi Cynthia! I totally agree with you on appliances, the simpler the better.

Absolutely! Cheaper to buy and less likely to go bad than a fancy unit with too many bells and whistles! Printed circuit boards are usually the culprit!

The dishwasher is one of my favorite appliances. I run ours about 3-4 times per week. Sometimes it's full of just glasses and coffee cups.
