I chose my chicks based on gentle behavior first. However I didn’t really expect this. I have several different types including 8 fluffy buff orpingtons. All the Orps are nice. However there’s one girl who is about the nicest chicken I’ve ever seen!!! When you pick up some of the others they squawk and catwall. But “Sweet pee” as I’ve named her is very quiet and gentle. You pick her up and she makes no noise. You run your hand from her head to her tail and she does nothing more than a little quiet peeping. She closes her eyes almost like a contented dog!!! I never knew chickens were like this!

Her she is sitting on my leg as I typed this!

Awww . . . what a sweet girl. Wish mine were more like her. Pick up one of mine and they scream like they're headed to the chopping block  Enjoy your lap chicken!

She really wants to be an only bird.

It's odd. Sweet Pea along with a couple other orps are a lot bigger than the other ones. They're all the same age though(six weeks Friday). The bigger ones seem to be the nicer ones. The little pee wee's are quick, flighty, and pecky(is hat a word?[IMG]).
