The Night Roof Crower

My roo, Cookie, has gotten into a very strange habit.

He crows on the roof of the inner coop now.

See, I have a larger enclosure around the smaller coop, and the top of that coop is pretty high up compared to him. But does he care? Nope! He decides to jump on it and then climb up to the highest part, crow for a long time, then fall asleep. Every night whenever I go out to put them in the coop, he's up there.
Do anyone else's chickens do this? I love it, it's super cute, but why does he do it?

Roosters want to broadcast their crows and will seek the highest spot possible to get the sound out there. Perfectly normal! He sounds adorable, got any photos?

I'll try to take some later of him on the roof. The silly baby sits up there like it's a nesting pole.
