The Non-Chicken Hatch-A-Long

Nothing exciting, just India Blues and split to white blues. How about you?

Mystery eggs! I have Blu, an almost 5-year old dark pied (out of silver pied) male with only one working leg (due to injury, not genetics), in with two blue pieds and a pied w/e (possibly split white or pied) of which 2 are laying (though I'm not certain which two), and three younger hens- a probably-cameo pied, a purple pied and a purple bs pied. There's also an almost 2yo opal split white or pied (not sure) male in the pen until we get the next pen finished, but the only one I've seen on the girls is Blu.

So I have no idea what's going to come out of my eggs! I'm excited to be surprised, and keeping my fingers crossed that there are a couple pieds or whites in the bunch.

@Kedreeva , does this count as a non-chicken chick?

It's a day old pigeon that I hatched.

It's day five for my 21, so I candled them and 12 of the 21 were clears. Of the nine remaining, one looks like it might have a blood ring and a couple look as good as the others, but I'll leave them be for now.

Cracked open all the clears and made scrambled eggs for the chickens, lol.

Just to be clear, I am not suggesting that anyone toss eggs at day 5... When in doubt, wait until you are 100% sure they aren't any good.

I put four eggs on lockdown today... it's a couple days early, but the last chick tried to hatched a couple days early, and I don't want to have that surprise again!
