Ways YOU can make a difference:
*In the winter, turn your thermostat down and in the summer, turn it up a little to save energy and money!
we use only the fireplace to keep the house warm in the winter. The oil? thats for the hot water.
*Unplug any unused chargers. Even if the device is unpluged, the charger is still using up energy.
i don't even remember the last time we had a chrager plugged.
*Wash your laundry in cold water.
doesn't everyone?
*Every now and then, just take a walk around your yard and collect trash.
which type, the organic or man-made type?
*Recycle! If you don't have a local recycling orginazation, you can find other ways to reuse your "trash"!
We do reuse, and it's not for the "going Green" reasons
*Reuse your bottles and plastic silverware, etc!
we use silverware, not plastic forks and spoons
*Try to avoid using plastic water bottles. Instead, use reusable bottles that you will re wash.
has anybody ever heard of a thing called "Tap Water" nowadays?
*Take shorter showers with colder water. (I know its torture!)
No way you are getting me do do that! not for all the green in the planet!
*Take a shower instead of a bath. Showers often times use up less water than baths.
a bath once a year is enough for me, showers rule!
*Use CFL lightbulbs in place of energy consuming bulbs.
it's us who pay the electric bill! so other people shouldn't be worrying!
*Hang clothing out to dry instead of using an automatic dryer.
we've never done it any other way... at home.
*Try composting instead of throwing food and stuff out. It makes great fertilizer!
the chickens enjoy it much more then the garden does!
*Turn off lights around the house when youre not using them.
that would be nice, if only they could stay off!
*Let your chickens free-range! It cuts down on feeding costs and is good for the yard, too!
well well well, now chickens compost too?
*Grow your own garden! Its a lot of fun and you can sell the veggies!
well it's not everyone that has a good garden, much less soil thats not clay.
*When buying a car, choose one with high MPG.
which one, the one that cost more? No thank you!
*Hunt for your own food, or fish for your own food in place of buying it at a store.
well it's been a dream, but we don't have anough acreage for all that
