the +*OFFICIAL*+ German Shepherd thread :D

This is my DH's german shepherd Weiss that I got him for his birthday. He is currently a year and two months old. I will try and get his baby photos up later. He has been the best dog we have ever owned. We plan to breed him eventually to get a son or daughter out of him for another family pet. He is a big sweetheart, we don't know what we would do without him!

This is our German Shepherd, Grimm. He's a West German showline boy and such a fantastic guy! He was born 07 Jan 2009 and has been with us since he was 9-1/2 weeks old. He is the perfect all-around farm and family dog. He doesn't chase our animals: he herds our ducks for us with minimal training or commands. He doesn't chase our horses. He checks in on all of "his" animals every morning and night to make sure they are okay (horses, ducks, rabbits, cats...) He loves all people, barks at people acting oddly or strangers coming to our farm and is just a fantastic boy. The guys at our local Home Depot also love him. He is always welcome there, and they normally carry treats because they love making him "speak." ;)

He also thinks our pit bull is his litter mate, and we don't tell him any different.

Our family has had GSDs for twenty-five years, and we will always have them:

Love looking at all the pictures of the GSD's, it is nice to have more things in common with people than just where they live. We have a 4 year old German named Trooper, a 5 year old Jack Russell named Princess (Peanut), 3 pygmy goats, Bandit, Sapphire and their baby Zeke and 2 cats, Sophie and Hailey. Getting chickens soon.

I got my first gsd in august. Named him bear. The breeder sold him at 4 weeks of age (i didn't know this until I tried to feed him his first meal when he wouldn't eat I called asked what I was doing wrong she told me his age I was so mad. Ran out to pet store got puppy milk and grul mix. ) now my bear is 8 months old about 85 pounds and has my heart only problem I have is he is way too rough with my 4 year old. Any suggestions.

This is our Shelby .We adopted her September 2012 from a no kill shelter. She was found by a vet on his way to work. She had a injury to her tail so they

had to amputate She was in therapy at the vet office for 2 months before being put up for adoption. We drove 100 miles round trip to get her. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is about 2 1/2 years old and just full of puppy. She Love's to go and spook the chickens and any other bird on the ground. Trying to stop her with the chicken spooking. She love's to stand on the porch and watch the bird's.
