My Homemade Bator ( which is the one I hatched all my button eggs up till now ) had a fan. The guy who wired it up set it on around 100 so I couldn't change the temp. But on my Hova-Bator ( which also has a fan ) I will be able to adjust the 'temp .. just as soon as I figure out how to run the AWESOME thing.

Does anyone have a Hova-Bator, how do you adjust the temp on it? I didn't mess w/ it a whole lot today 'cause people kept piling stuff ontop of it!

Yes, they will flush and hit their heads. The more they get used to you feeding them the less they will flush. I have kept a tarp over my cages at night so predators and neighbors won't make them flush.

The little yellow thingy on top of the 'bator?.

I think you turn the little nut on it. It's been a while since I've fiddled with mine.

I have a hovabator and have not had to reset it at all. The booklet I think says that they have been preset from the factory and are more accurate than the thermometer that is provided:rolleyes:. Could be that you will not have to do anything to it. I would also put in more than one thermometer in and test it out. Of coarse I got two different readings which were close to the temp. needed for a good hatch. I was a little disappointed with my last hatch, but the eggs had come from up north and shipped through the post office. My other hatch a couple years back that were shipped threw the mail, but under warmer outside temps. and I had about 87% hatch with my quail. Know you will enjoy your new bator as I have.

I have 2 other Thermometers and of course the little cheapy thermometer that came w/ the 'bator. I'll stick all three in there ..just to be safe. I trust the other twp, fairly well!
