The Old Folks Home

Okay them I am alien also with pleasure I will be in good company huh that is what led me Vet medicine @perchie.girl Dad taught me how to treat many malady's over the years on our animals between him a clutz I had to learn to sew a hock or head, give a bolus or birth a calf breach I have always been small in size but big in heart and determination

Hmm, I wonder what my alien characteristics are?

I don't think I have any special powers, unless you count empathy, but that's been severely tried over the years! Maybe just an "alienist" - the name for detective-psychologists back in the Victorian times. I just retired from being a forensic psychologists, and worked with criminals or misfits of one sort or another most of my career. And regular folks, too, but of course people with difficulties in life.

Topic leap:

I've spent much of today (and will tomorrow, and more) straightening out my finances now that I'm not working. I have old 401(k) accounts that have to be moved to my IRA, where there are much lower fees and I have more control over what they're doing with my money. There seem to be endless hoops to jump through. I finished one application that asked me the date I left that job - hmm, I think it was the end of November, 2017. Are all the others going to ask that? Like the small account for the job I had for 9 months in 1986?

I'm in big trouble. This sort of thing, which shouldn't be that hard, makes me want to hide my head under the covers until it all goes away. So much for the big brave alienist forensic psychologist, who faced scathing cross-examination without crying!

If you look up your social security record I believe they will give start dates and end dates for each of your jobs.... I know employers can look that stuff up....

I was a Contract Employee for many years....
