The Old Folks Home

I absolutely hate self check out. DW will use them I walk away and don't help if she does I can't even stand watching it usually have probs. I haven't seen any self serve fast food around here but did run into one traveling. We walked out and went someplace else. Actually just recently ran into another had a couple of those stand in front of big computer things but we waited for the real human, they had one. The city of Syracuse has a MEPS center military and had two young guys in full dress behind us, ended up letting them ahead cause dang kids couldn't make up their minds, apparently they were not interested in the stupid kiosk thingys either. Seen them look at them, then us (four kids screaming at me) and chose to wait for us lol. I had to let them ahead

My little red EE cockerel had the most throttled crow this morning I was thrilled HE IS cockerel by heavens I was so thrilled

Angel, in the 5 years that I've been keeping chickens, I have learned two things. 1) chickens love to die for no apparent reason and 2) Chickens are insane. I've seen my young Fayoumi pullets be standing perfectly still, suddenly let out a squawk and jump straight up in the air high enough to hit the netting, take off running around the run, then boom, back to normal.

Hawks usually leave a mess. They love to set with their prey on the ground and pull out feathers before tearing off what they want and flying away. Every spring, we find circles of feathers where the hawks have been preying on migrating water fowl in our pasture. So hopefully it wasn't a hawk. I tend to agree with the suggestion that she got startled by what her crazy little chicken brain thought was a fire breathing dragon and either went up, or down into hiding until she thought the coast was clear.

Speaking of a self serve world. At our last HAM club meeting they asked for volunteers to help at the local flu shot clinic. I thought, OH BOY! I gets to give shots again! only to be told that no the club provides radio coverage for the drive through shot clinic that they hold at the local Fair Grounds. Seems as though you can just pull in, fill out a page, let them copy your insurance card, pull up, somebody jabs you with a needle through your open car window and off you go. It's the club's job to use radios to handle traffic flow and parking when needed. I just moaned leaned over and told my dear husband. You went through medical school and I went through nursing school to park cars.......I don't think so. If I can't give shots, I ain't gonna play! He felt the same way.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better @trumpeting_angel. Ticks must die! Is more than a motto for me, it's a way of life.

DD, I think you are the same age my brother is so yeah, I see your point. Things were so much different back then.:bow

No Costco near us or Sam's club. Usually I get my Zyrtec and Singulair through my medicine insurance and my benadryl via Amazon along with my flonase. My part D will only pay for one bottle a month and I use two a month. Allergies from Hades here.

Morning all! Working on finishing up this little baby quilt today. This is the second one I've made. First one was in purple . Both for little girls. I have one more baby quilt to finish then I am caught up on unfinished ones. The pictures of the grandkids are gorgeous. Being a grandma is the best! View attachment 1908424

Cyn that was the colorful cat one right? It was a lot of fun to work on. SCG did most of it. I just made a few of the cats. So glad she still enjoys it.

Curious. As soon as Flonase went on the OTC shelf the insurance we had stopped covering it. Went from $5 copay to over $20.On sale at Costco I can get 5 bottles for $25 (Thanks @ronott1 !). No way they would pay for Zyrtec, there were generics on the shelf.

Check out AllerFlo on Amazon. You can get the 5 pack for $23 with free shipping. That is a whole lot better than 1 Flonase for $19 with free shipping. Aller-tec is $14 for 365 with free shipping vs 100 Zyrtec for $38 with free shipping.

I think the reason Silverscript pays for zyrtec and singulair is because my doctor writes it as an RX. I get the allerflo and benadryl from Amazon also. Mainly I keep a bottle of ceterizine on hand incase one of us runs out.

Morning everyone! Happy Monday!
