The Old Folks Home

microchick, I think you have a great mechanic because of karma. You are such a nice person you deserve it. I love to read about your adventures- well except for the puppies taking your house down bit by bit.
:hugsahhhh shucks, sweet lady. DH is great. Not your typical doc, that is for sure. I waited 52 years to find him but he was well worth the wait.

As for the pups, they aren't doing too badly.........at the moment. :fl

But my arm is better. I was very lucky to have antibiotics on hand to start on immediately. It's sore yet, minimal swelling and tenderness. But I'll live. They have actually been on pretty good behavior lately. The cats are still idiots, though so we have fort knoxed the upstairs and downstairs. If they aren't smart enough to protect themselves, we will do it for them.

Made dinner taco meat with read beans , tator tots I had chips with mine BF and Son had burrito sized tortilla now going to watch dancing with the stars and the voice have to flip back and forth still have to Jar up my apple sauce

Not too bad.
Still doing my neck exercises twice a day. I see the doc and the PT lady tomorrow. I had to quit one exercise because it was causing my neck to hurt worse. I seem to only be able to go about 10 days before the spasms kick in again in my neck and shoulders. The good news is that I recognize when they are starting now and try to do a few quick reps to loosen things up till next time.

How'd the stress test go or is that tomorrow?
Good, I was able to work on the treadmill until I reached my target heart rate. Results tomorrow or the next day.

Good news indeed, @CapricornFarm. Hope it stays that way for you.

We have one apple tree that has fruit on it ready to pick. We don't spray our trees so the bugs are starting to swarm around them. It's pick apples fast before the bugs chow down!

We also have a few Asian Pears on one tree. My plans are to make applesauce later and throw a few pears in with it. I tried that last year and we really liked the apple/pear sauce combo.

Not sure if I'm going to just slice apples for the freezer or make applesauce and freeze it....maybe both? Slicing and peeling is less work but man o man that applesauce is so convenient to get out and thaw before a meal.

I visited my 88-year-Old MIL today and her caregiver, a young woman, asked me a chicken question. She wanted to know if all the eggs were okay to eat or if some had chickens in them.

OMG! What do these kids learn in school? And in Vermont? Though I think she is from New Hampshire- could that explain it?
Is she asking "all" as in store eggs too? That would be really bizarre. Could be worse. At least she knows that chickens lay eggs and that chickens come out of eggs!

No, I think it was the backyard chickens that mystified her. I’m sure she has gotten eggs from the store for most (or all) of her life, but the idea of eggs that come out of actual chickens carry the threat of little chickens inside! :lau

Thought about sticking a couple banana's in it but didn't have any ripe enough

I’m happy to report that it seems all four of my girls are now laying in the nest box. The one who was slowest to develop, Callie Chick (GLW) went in there yesterday and rearranged all the straw, which took her a good 15 minutes. Then she went in later, and came out making the worst egg-song-shriek of all of them. Sure enough, a tiny warm egg in the nest box.

So proud of my girls! And they are so proud of themselves - :jumpy
