The Old Folks Home

The ones I have gotten are a super soft metal... no idea what....
Aluminum?

Nah... the markers are so when all is covered by snow and I am plowing in the plow truck, I can plow up to the driveway edge but NOT fall into the ditch.
Exactly! Just need to know the boundaries of where to move snow from.

meet Big Guy.
Lovely dog!!

Did we miss the wedding or am I just forgetful?

Thanks! We all think so too and hope he finds a good home. :fl

Wedding was last month. September 21st. Can’t believe it was over a month ago already. :hit

Idk if I ever posted about it here.

Well this IS the Old Folks Home, some of us are old and forgetful. Maybe you did post it.

:lau

Nahh I think I must have just forgotten. I know I posted some on the Balut thread and maybe NFC’s??

It was such a busy, chaotic weekend I probably forgot.

Either way, it was a lovely wedding. :)

We moved here in 68 as Dad told Ma she would not have shovel snow here 69 was record snowfall Dad had a horrible cold was digging the truck out for Ma to drive into work had a 1967 3/4 ton GMC she drove (ever wonder how I ended up driving big rigs) Dad started coughing really bad his denture dropped into the snow Ma roared it never snows in Seattle laughing hysterically she layed down in the seat locking the doors so he could pull her out in it ;)

We don't have to mark the drive way either as it's like, if we hit the mailbox, we're too far to the east and if we hit the garbage dumpster we are too far to the west. Plus there are two big posts that the gate is hung on so aim between them and hope for the best.

But then there is the ravine on the other side of the road to worry about. In icy/snowy weather it's like, get a running start and don't slow up for nothin! Our first winter here we got the van stuck in the road cattywompus. Couldn't get up the drive. Kept sliding down. That ravine kept getting closer and closer. A young Amish man stopped and help push the beast out of the road for us. Next summer we had the driveway bulldozed so we didn't have to climb a hill to get to the house.

It's snowing here again. 2-4 inches before morning. The Fayoumis ventured out today but nobody else. Smart birds. Although I noticed that Tut kept one foot tucked up in his breast feathers at all times while his girls scratched about. Now that's dedication.

Tomorrow I'm making Apple Pie Jam. Never made it before but the recipe sounds delicious. I was going to make apple jelly but in all honesty I have a problem discarding perfectly good apple pulp or giving it to the chickens.

I love your Tut!
