The Old Folks Home

I apparently chat a lot cause I have almost 30000 already :lau :hide

Joined in 2008 but was off and on then, often leaving for months or at one point a few years, didn’t really start coming back and staying consistently till I got my first chickens 4 years ago and probably didn’t really start chatting a ton and meeting everyone until like a couple years after that. And some threads I didn’t even join till last year or this year. So like 4 years at most, 1-2 or less at least, I’ve racked up almost 30000 posts :lau :hide

I joined a lot more threads this year though like hatch a longs and stuff so I’m sure I’ve accumulated a lot just this year :lau :hide

Lately when I sit down, Cap, I seem to be studying for the next upgrade for my HAM license. Right now I'm a General Class operator which is good, but there is one more grade and that is called Extra. It's tough. Lots of techobabble about capacitors, resistors, amplifiers and the like. Makes my brains hurt but I feel that if I don't do it before long my brain will turn to old mush and I'll never be able to absorb it all.

So the quilts are standing by waiting for me.

Wanted to make my 7,000th post here among friends at the home!

So here it is, old folks! Post #7,000!

Congrats!

35,000? I just did the math. If I continue to do 1400 a year it will take me 25 years to reach 35,000. I only have 7,000 now so that would mean 20 more years? GAAAAH. I can just see me at 86, huddled over the keyboard in my wheelchair, squinting through my reading glasses trying to focus on the monitor, my typing looking something like this ..wpga :rantjjwelosoa slciaa... :lau hslbsoe~!

I've been trying to do greeting when I have a minute. I just don't have a lot of spare minutes. :plbb Still it is fun and yeah, I think it's worthwhile especially if you have spent any time on the forum.

There are ways to just talk and the computer types it for you!
