The Old Folks Home

For what its worth I went from a 5x to a 2x after loosing almost 100 pounds.

WOW! deb, that is HUGE! You're just a shadow of your former self! Atta girl, Slim!

Anyone else get Disney+ ?
Heard many having probs but been working great here, no probs.

Uh-oh. The major problem I heard today on the news was Disney+ got hacked and 10 millions subscribers now have their info and account numbers on the Dark Web. Better double check that identity theft protection!

Read that one, hopefully not. Just had a scare recently on a hack, DW's debit card was, had a call from fraud protection, "do you use Uber or Lyft?" Nope (havta drive 10 miles just to get near where a cab would be available, I don't think uber or lyft is anywhere near here) "well you have two payments on both for $40 each but we stopped payment and cancelled your card" yeah!! Kinda sucked she had to wait almost two weeks before she got her new card. She thinks it came from Redbox only purchase she made that day and also got a shut down of her Email, had a alert that someone unsuccessfully tried multiple times to access her Email , had to call somewhere to get that all straightened out and change her password. She thinks Redbox cause they also have her Email. Checked it next day to see if it looked like they had a card swipper on it, nope, looked ok, must have been hacked online. Pretty scary.

Yikes, the internet is a scary place!

Yrs of over prescription for whatever ails us doesn't help, antibiotics for a cold or any many other viruses does nothing. Its been just recently that they've tried to reign in overprescripting.

Yes! And we have known this for decades, and done virtually nothing (effective) about it! Now we have great old antibiotics that are cheap (penicillin, for example) and can be afforded by poor people and people in third-world countries, but they don't cure the illnesses any more. New antibiotics are appallingly expensive. The germs are getting ahead of our ability to develop new antibiotics. A disaster in the making for us; a disaster already for third-world countries.

Hah! I once tried to find a cab or alternative in White River Junction, Vermont where I was turning in a rental car. Not a major metropolis but a small city quite close to two other small cities that have need of transportation - Hanover, NH (Dartmouth) and W. Lebanon, NH (major shopping center for a large area of VT and NH).

None of the cab companies answered the phone. I left a message with one; another didn't answer at all. I downloaded the Uber app on my phone but found no help. Finally, the manager at the rental car place offered to drive me home, only a few miles out of his way!

Rural life. Gotta love it. Free ride!

Again, germs are going to mutate anyway, no matter what. It's what they do. Even if all antibiotics were banned all over the planet for the next 60 years, in 60 years plenty of today's germs would have naturally mutated enough, that most of today's treatments would be useless, including antibiotics.

My daughter, and I had an interesting discussion. In 300 years from now, the viruses, and diseases, for the most part, would be radically different from the ones we face today. Just like now, many illnesses, and ailments that were serious in yesteryear, are harmless, or have been eradicated now. In 300 years, I suspect a lot of what we face today, will be things of yesteryear. In that time, there will be diseases, and illnesses they will face, that we've never even heard of.
