The Old Folks Home

Happy Thanksgiving Old Folks! Looking forwards to the feast later on today. Will be thinking of those who cannot be home for the events (military, hospital staff, emergency folks). I will also be thinking of those who are in need. We have a local food pantry that helps hundreds of local families not just during the holidays but year round. They do "backpacks" to send home with children to have food over the weekends or during the week when school is out. They are truly marvelous. Our local grocery stores offer free turkeys for so many points that you accrue during your weekly shopping. Last year and this year we donated our free turkey to the food pantry. Glad we are able to help out even just a little.

Many years ago my father decided he had to move the tall bookcase in my room. I asked him to wait while I removed fragile items. Of course he didn't. Bookcase toppled over and broke the handle off a sterling silver coffee service.:tongue

Awwww, that's so sad, Diva. Dh didn't break anything, but there was a LOT of stuff on it, and it wasn't that long ago that I spent 2 days going through all the canned goods to make sure they had not expired, and getting them organized. I've got a lot of it put back in. At least this time I didn't have to check all the dates.

I went to the doctor yesterday. Everything is stable. Yay! I came home to a disaster. Dh had decided to remove the spare fridge from the area it was in. In order to do that, he had to take everything off one of the large shelving units, and move the shelving unit to get the fridge out. The shelving unit in question, is more like an extended pantry, and fully loaded. I do keep my incubator, and incubating items on the middle shelf. Of course, he did not try keeping the things somewhat organized. He tossed everything in the gorilla carts. I got home tired, and didn't feel like tackling it. I'll work on it in a bit. I want to drink my coffee first, then I'll get started on it. I need to put out rat baits in the tack room part of my coop today too.
We have survived the cleaning toda!

It can be stressful on thanksgiving!
