The Old Folks Home

Happy post Christmas everyone. Nobody sick here...@drumstickdiva, @dsqard, feel better fast and that's an order!:hugs

@penny1960 what kind of sadistic doctor orders fasting blood work AFTER Christmas?

@perchie.girl, vertigo isn't fun no matter how old you are. DH had a middle ear infection once and the vertigo knocked him flat. All caused by his allergies. Me, when I get the flu it turns into asthmatic bronchitis because of my allergies.

So far this morning I made regular bread and banana bread. Waiting for the banana bread to get out of the oven so I can knead down the bread for it's second rising.

@bruceha2000, ya surely I did. Back on the diet now. I had lost 5 pounds after I got my last Prolia shot. No appetite for about two weeks afterwards. So I had some 'wiggle room' when it came to devouring good food and yep, wiggled my way through the treats with no regrets.

I woke up this morning with a throbbing knee and right shoulder. Nope, getting old ain't for the faint of heart.
I have hope I will feel better soon! Got a shot and some steroids. That should clear up these issues. I know there are lots of side effects, but I need to feel better!

@CapricornFarm, I hear ya. My rheumatologist gave me a medrol dose pack to 'keep on hand' for a flare up when one inevitably happens. I have it sitting on my 'radio' desk' and every now and then pick it up, sigh and put it back down again knowing if I use it I'll just be dissolving my bones faster than they are doing on their own...yet I want to take those pills and feel better soooooo bad. I see my DO in a couple of weeks and need to have a talk with him about pain control especially over night.

Hope you get to feeling better, my friend.:hugs Feeling bad all the time just sux.

I'm thinking I'm achin and painin more than usual cause the weather is changing...again.Rain and colder temps for the next few days and my built in barometers are feeling it.

Me too. The worst of the aches and pains seem to dissipate once I get out of bed and can stand without grabbing furniture. My carpy vertigo takes advantage of anything that might slow me down. I sure hope the new mattress coming soon will make a big difference.

From what I understand off medical sites and such, vertigo is caused by crystals in the ear escaping from where they belong. Allegedly there is a minor procedure where they can block the rascally crystals and keep them where they belong. I have never heard of anyone that had the procedure done.

At some point the crystals must be rounded up and vertigo ends till the next time.

Wonder if stuffing q-tips in my ears - as far as they will go - if that would work.Would be tricky to sleep with q-tips.

My mother had ear problems all her life.
