The Old Folks Home

I just found this thread, look forward to flipping thru the old pages. It’ll be nice to chat with some older folks, I hadn’t really realized till just lately how many kids are on byc....I’m sure they mean well, but if I’m looking for advice on something I’d like to know if the person giving it is 13 or thirty. Don’t mean to sound like an old poop, but there it is
LOL Welcome aboard.... I am half way to my mid sixties.... ::Snort::: But like Micro said lots of us are tweens at heart... I been away from chickens for a while but hope to get started again in the spring. Too long away from home.

And @microchick I have no excuses for my missing what evers.... finger malfunction... Got rid of the ole sticky keyboard... Note to everyone you cannot.... I repeat CANNOT get catchup out of your keyboard.... :th 🤪

And Thank you @getaclue for talking about mechanical Keyboards a while back. I bit the bullet and got one and i am sooo happy now. My keying speed has gone up.... I am enjoying writing...

Perchie I don't think I spilled anything in that particular keyboard. I think it's just a bit long in the tooth and it's days of being useful are almost over. I've had them do this before. Usually the next step is a whole block of letters around it will stop being cooperative then it's adios keyboard.

Turned two of the pups loose on our 29 acre skating rink. Laughed till I wet myself watching them do slide outs and crashes. Even funnier is that when they crashed, they got up and tried the same maneuver again with the same results. I think they were being typical 'kids' sliding on the ice, falling and doing it again because it was so much fun the first time.

Ron, it's a man and WOMAN nerd cave from the 70s-80s-90s-2000s-2010s and 2020s ad infinitum.........Some things never change.

Only I prefer Radio Room to HAM Shack.
It was impressive! Tubes that glowed red and home made heathkit gear. Of course, post cards from around the world on the walls

Some of our staff wear out a keyboard in a couple of years. Often the numbers on the keyboard are worn off first LOL

Ahhhhh.....QSO cards. DH has more than I do. I mainly talk on 2 meter and the local repeaters along with some digital. DH like to do DX more than I do. DX = distant contacting, usually out of the country. He talked to Slovenia the other night not even one of his longest distance contacts.

No tubes in our radios. Some still run the old school radios but modern electronics makes it so much easier and so much more complex.

Dad died in 2001 and could not operate his stuff long before then. He stopped sometime in the 1980s
