It's going down to 32 tonight. It's only got up to 55 today. It wouldn't be bad, but it's very windy out. 7 mph sustained winds, with 17 mph gusts. The chickens are tucked in, all cozy, and secure.

Sorry, couldn't resist the 3 Stooges' flash back. They come upon me sudden like.

I woke up this morning to a brighter shade of gloomy. By 10 this weird brightness took possession of the sky. It was like a big light came on! And I was able to get outside and take care of the birds without freezing anything important off! Of course, 3-5 inches of snow over the next two days but HEY! 50 degrees by next Monday!

My birds have handled the weather well. I saw a few back tips on extra large combs but today everybody was looking fine as a fiddle. May try to let them out tomorrow for a bit but with ice and snow still on the ground I'm doubting if anybody will knock me over on the way tout the door.

@ronott1, if you have his equipment you should get your license and keep up the tradition. If it hasn't been reassigned to somebody else, you may even be able to get his call sign.

@Bruceha1960. Trust me, some HAMS can't even spell HAM Shack let alone HAM SHANK.
