The Old Folks Home

Thank you everyone!! I’ll have to try all of those things!! I have some Vaseline lotion. Think it’s like intensive care advanced repair or something like that and I think it’s unscented and it usually works pretty well but I always either forget to put it on or don’t want to since I can’t use my phone 🙈 need to maybe do it right before bed and put the phone down for the night. But I also wasn’t sure if it was safe to use since they are cracked open and bleeding??

And @ValerieJ you didn’t miss anything. I never posted about. They’re not like gushing blood or anything but they are extremely dry and thick, almost like elephant skin or something :sick and because of it they’ve cracked, mostly along the knuckles and between my thumbs, and bled. It’s pretty painful, especially when I bend my hands, but I hate putting anything on because then I can’t get anything done. Not just not using the phone, that’d be fine, but it gets grease all over everything. I thought maybe if I got gloves I could put something on now instead of at night. Although sometimes the gloves have leaked before so

We used to have a ton of gloves but now we don’t have any so idk where they all went haha

I should probably start wearing gloves just around the house and stuff too because I’m also a bit OCD and wash my hands a million times a day  I will even wash them, accidentally touch something weird, and have to wash them again sometimes. so between that and using the dish soap, plus winter, it’s really dried them out.
We cannot use anti bacterial soap here since it wrecks the families hands!

I think it's an overall change that is needed. It will take some time, but you can get your hands healthy again. Start now by wearing task appropriate gloves for everything. Or just get a box of medical gloves. You can get latex free if you're allergic to that. You can easily put lotion on inside those. As for washing your hands too much, you need to stop using dish soap and find a delicate soap for the job, then just use a hand sanitizer if you think you've had your hands in something a gentle soap wont clean. These little disposable gloves can be used for every different job. I can take them off, folding them inside out as I do it, so that I'm not even touching the soiled glove.
