The Old Folks Home

Got home from the dentist at 1. I managed to book with another doctor at the practice that I had been going to. He was great and managed to save the tooth which did have a cavity in it. 311 dollars poorer but it was worth it.
That is good news!

I think I’m gonna go to the store and get some gloves.

My hands are so bloody and dry :hit

I’ve tried putting Neosporin on them a couple times cause I figured I shouldn’t put the hand lotion on open wounds but I seriously might have to cause I don’t think the Neosporin penetrates deep enough.

Or else I just need to remember to put it on every day and not occasionally. 🙈

Either way, think I’m going to get gloves so I can put it on and let it soak in cause otherwise I can’t do anything cause it gets all over my fingers and everything. This way I can still do stuff.

Also probably should stop washing my hands a million times a day and/or stop using dish soap :lau

But it’s also cause it’s so cold cause summer it doesn’t do it and I do the same thing.

I must have missed something. Why are your hands bleeding?

I use gloves for everything. Rubber gloves when cleaning and dish washing (not the same pair), and garden gloves for outdoor work and chicken chores (not the same pair). I have them everywhere. I even use the laytex gloves when I'm preparing raw meat or chicken. :D

If your hands are extraordinarily dry, I would recommend Corn Huskers Lotion.

My Daughter has eczema and sometimes uses cotton gloves with moisturizer or a cortisone cream on her hands at night.

I use this when my hands get dry in the winter and put it on at night:

Bag balm is also good for dry, chapped, raw hands.

Thank you everyone!! I’ll have to try all of those things!! I have some Vaseline lotion. Think it’s like intensive care advanced repair or something like that and I think it’s unscented and it usually works pretty well but I always either forget to put it on or don’t want to since I can’t use my phone 🙈 need to maybe do it right before bed and put the phone down for the night. But I also wasn’t sure if it was safe to use since they are cracked open and bleeding??

And @ValerieJ you didn’t miss anything. I never posted about. They’re not like gushing blood or anything but they are extremely dry and thick, almost like elephant skin or something :sick and because of it they’ve cracked, mostly along the knuckles and between my thumbs, and bled. It’s pretty painful, especially when I bend my hands, but I hate putting anything on because then I can’t get anything done. Not just not using the phone, that’d be fine, but it gets grease all over everything. I thought maybe if I got gloves I could put something on now instead of at night. Although sometimes the gloves have leaked before so

We used to have a ton of gloves but now we don’t have any so idk where they all went haha

I should probably start wearing gloves just around the house and stuff too because I’m also a bit OCD and wash my hands a million times a day  I will even wash them, accidentally touch something weird, and have to wash them again sometimes. so between that and using the dish soap, plus winter, it’s really dried them out.
