The Old Folks Home

We did have something weird happen two nights ago. We had a car stopped in front of our house on the road near our driveway and sit there with their lights on. We had no idea what was going on. The cabin down the road to the West of us was broken into over the winter months so we were suspicious. Plus we didn't know if somebody was checking out the coop.

DH went out, armed of course, and crept around the back of the house and headed for the coop. Didn't see anything. The doors are locked these days. He said at some point the security light over the west shop door popped on. It is sensitive and will trigger if a big bug flies in front of it or a mouse runs across the drive.

The minute the light popped on, the car left, and 5 minutes later came back down the road again going in the opposite direction.

If anybody thinks two old people living here are easy targets, I'm afraid they will have a rude awakening.

In the mean time, I hate sleeping with one eye open.

vinegar is my friend. buy it by the gallon. VERY hard water from my well... One of the to do things on my list is a whole house filter for well water.
You might look into buying citric acid. Cheaper than buying vinegar and is a bit stronger as well.

In the mean time all males of the species better cross their legs and low crawl to the nearest exit.....fast!
What did *I* do?? I wasn't even here!

The nondescript chunk of concrete in the upper left hand corner of the garden we finally figured out, was a cap to a cistern. Have no idea where it came from.
Hopefully you won't find out! Any odd low spots around?

We needed to get pressure treated wood for the project and the lockdown happened so it's on hold for next year.
Are lumber yards "essential business" there? Could they maybe deliver some to the end of your driveway?

Re: infusions - is that for real or what is hoped for
I don't know that there are any concluded clinical trials yet with regard to this virus.

Old is a person who is ten or more years older than yourself.
And with Kelsey here that makes ALL the rest of us OLD! ;)

In my fantasy world it would be like chicken pox.... you get it and stay immune for forever.
And then get shingles!

It ends on my 40th birthday and the trail map obviously ends in Maine
Nice that you will be home when you finish the race :D
You can ignore the BYC part of the email I sent, I was behind and didn't realize you had come to visit.

That little stinker has watched grandpa log into his Amazon account, so when she saw the Amazon logo, she knew what to put in, and she ordered some movies, and put the extra Disney channel on there.
At FOUR!!!! :th

Amazon has a dual password feature too-- a text code sent to a phone and the entered before login completes.
Wouldn't work well here given the poor cell signal we have.

But in reality we know how they generally go. His older brother and sister change 'significant others' almost as frequently as they change clothes.
Each is an individual. Let us know how it is working out in 10 years.

I know the first never happened... the second might have.
Wow, I'm a little surprised that some of your boys are still alive ... or you aren't in jail for child abuse.

Bruce, I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast yesterday yet alone what I said 5 or 6 pages ago, LOL. As for the lumber yard delivery, probably, maybe...dunno...would have to call them but I know the local MFA feed store has said they would deliver the fencing and cattle panels that we need for the new fenced in yard for the dogs. So maybe...

We saw the Musk Starlink satellites go over last night. Very very strange to see this long line of little lights traveling across the sky. At first I thought it was a high altitude plane pulling some sort of lit banner and then it dawned on me it was a line of satellites.

I just talked to the doctor's office. I was supposed to go in next week but they don't want me to. They said their doors were locked and told me the plan they had in place to see 'have to see' patients. Man oh man, way too complex. I'm waiting for a call back but in the mean time....thank you covid 19 for messing up life more than it already is......not.

Same old same old, Cap. The more I do the more I hurt and right now I'm very busy sooooooo:confused:

Yesterday I was outside most of the day working on the lawn. DH mows with our Iseki tractor pulling a finishing mower, I do the detail mowing with a push mower. Our 'compound' is so big that I do it in stages. Yesterday was the front yard and part of the side yard. When the rain stops I will do the back yard and around the garden. Then tomorrow I will mow around the coop and the orchard.

My hind quarters were pretty much dragging when I came in yesterday at 3. I took pain medicine and crashed on the sofa in the family room. Dinner was in the crock pot so I didn't move for about 2 and a half hours. I went out in the evening and did some work with my grass sheers but there is a lot more to do.

My garden is starting to finally come up...everything but my carrots. I cannot figure out why I cannot get carrots to grow here. Very frustrating.

How are you doing these days?
I think carrots need sandy soil. They take forever to grow here in the clay. I am trying to get more done around here. Hubby made me three raised bed garden boxes!

I have one more to paint.
I sold 4 chicks, and 4 teen chickens today, so that pleased me. And I got some packing crate sides that garden tractors come in, for free. Not sure what I am making from them, but I will make something.
Trying to ignore how I feel. Saw my Doctor out in public at the feed store without a mask on! Sigh.
