The Old Folks Home

Ron, that rest was good. I was totally oblivious to EVERYTHING, until I woke up this morning. I've not slept that deeply, in a long time.
I can have that happen after working hard...If I am not too sore from the work!

Another good thing, Dh did while I was gone, was use the pole saw (extended little chainsaw), and get the overhanging ends of the tree trimmed, so the mice can't get to the coop via the tree. There is one branch that is too big, and he's got to climb up on the ladder, with the regular chainsaw to cut it back further. At least for now, the mice can't use it to access the coop.

Morning everyone. Congratulations on the successful trip, Clue.

DH and I are both tired today. Our mysterious pick up truck was back again. I was up at 2:20AM, my achy knee waking me. Got up, took two tylenol, and on my way back to bed looked out the window and there was that same truck again. They were sitting on the road at the bottom of the hill that our house sets on, engine idling. Headlights were on. I woke DH up and he did a cautious trip outside staying close to the house so he wasn't seen but could make sure nobody was snooping around on the property. Nope, just the truck. I don't know if they saw him move against the house or not but they suddenly kicked it into gear and threw gravel in their haste to depart.

I waited up until DH got back inside and went back to bed. Bless him, he stayed up to keep guard. This morning he called the sheriff and told them what was going on. They are going to kick up patrols...which would be novel. I think we have only seen the sheriff on the road twice in 10 years.

In the mean time we warned the neighbors to our east who said yes, their girls had heard the truck overnight also. So whatever they are up to it's no good. Nobody hangs out on these gravel roads after dark.
