The Old Folks Home

I have a video somewhere on the trap, just takes a flat rock some string and sticks. Easy to make and set. I actually love chipmunks. But when they start to dig up and eat every seed you plant it becomes WAR!
Thanks!! I’ll have to look it up. And yeah, same! They’re cute but we were overrun for a while haha

Okay, everything is covered here. Chickens are tucked in, dogs fed...I just dumped a glass of iced tea on my main computer keyboard...........:hitI love that keyboard. Hoping that it will dry out by morning and be as good as new. No sugar in the tea so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Pack the keyboard in rice.

Yesterday was Dd #1's birthday. Dd #2 came over, with a beautiful cake she had baked for her. Since the restaurants have partially opened again, we went to Outback Steakhouse for her birthday dinner. I called for call-ahead-seating, but that has been suspended. It's first come, first serve. We arrived about 5:45 pm. You go sign in outside, then go wait in your car, until they send a text to your cell phone, notifying you that your table is ready. We waited about 5 minutes.

Upon entering, the first observation was that the entire staff was wearing masks. The second observation was that the restaurant was mostly filled with old people. That was a bit of a surprise, since they're the group hardest hit. Older people typically eat out earlier, for a couple good reasons. It reminded me of senior hour at the supermarket, but the restaurant did not plan it that way, like the grocery stores do. You can't eat in a mask, so no patrons were wearing them. All menus were printed on paper, and discarded after use. No bottles of condiments, etc. on the tables. They would bring little cups of whatever condiments were requested. The seating capacity is reduced, so it's not crowded. Overall we had a great time, and a great meal. As we were leaving, I noticed that more younger people were filtering in.

If there was no sugar in it, turn it upside down on a towel for awhile, so all the excess drips out. Now take a blow dryer, and put it on medium heat. Turn the keyboard over, key side up, and gently blow warm air into the keyboard, moving the blow dryer over the keyboard, and don't let it get too hot inside. Return it to the towel, and let it finish drying overnight. It should be fine. I don't recommend rice for a keyboard, because the grains can get lodged under the keys.

We had the fireplace going so I just instantly picked up the keyboard, flipped it over and dumped about a cup of tea out of it, gave it a shake. DH unplugged it and set it on the mason tile that we have around the wood stove. The tiles were very warm from the fire and they did their job, the keyboard survived, YAY!

I told DH that next one I buy will definitely be water proof.

Good morning all. Hope your Saturday is a good one. I had an email in my inbox this morning from our local grocery store talking about the meat shortage. Seems as though it has hit small town USA. They said they are doing the best they can getting meat in their stores but they are having to pay a LOT more for it and could only absorb so much of the offset before they had to pass it on to the consumer.

Tell me....is anybody really surprised that this is happening?

It got down to 32 here last night. Everything 'fragile' and not so 'fragile' was covered. Temp is already in the 40s so I'm heading out to uncover and let the birds out.

Stay safe everyone.

We are getting the cold tonight. I may just bring the nectarine tree indoors. Benefit of not planting yet.
