I love, love, love her! I am working on a chocolate cochin project and I think you have something special with her! Very nice!

We are going to pick up my DD in the morning and we are taking them some turkey and chickens to put in the freezer.
My grandson will process the birds and put them in the freezer.

DD is coming to visit for a week. I don't get to see them enough because it is a 6 hr. round trip.

I have a mutt hen, barred with leg feathers, that is laying one of the darkest egg, rivals my pure marans layers. He undershell is a dark brown like a RIR egg, with that special coating to darken it. I might be able to hatch these easier than the marans eggs!! lol

Dang, I've missed you guys!!!

You know the all-work-no-play thing?? I'm made of all-work-no-play. At least I was. Now I'm hoping to have some rest!!!

Got lots of boring stories about waking up, working, not playing, and going back to bed.

I do have a new facility, on a 13 acre farm, smack in the middle of town (no more 15 mile commute 2x daily to do chickens!) and a fabulous new farm partner who keeps sheep and serious produce production. The birds are all moved in with the exception of a wayward pea hen who doesn't want to go in a box in the infernal rolling cage on the highway...wonder why?!

I've some building to do in order to split out a few colors, but other than that it's done. Pinwheel (new to BYC) is my farm partner and she's been doing the chicken chores the last few weeks so I can try to get back to work after the long move/build. We're starting to see eggs in good numbers, now, too!!

Is it too early to start thinking about a Turkey hatch? (what's wrong with me!!??)

They may hatch better but still be hard to candle.

The only way to know is to toss some into the incubator! (That is always my answer....)
