The Old Folks Home

We did not leave for the lake last night. They were having a march in Clanton and we would not have been able to get through. So we left this morning. After we cleaned out the small sid of the chicken coop and put the chicks in it. Dh did not want to bring them since we are only going to be here over night. I felt good about them being in the coop. I’ve had other chicks and young turkey poults in there before.
this should also get Dh to go get the dog kennel from TSC this week hopefully. We are getting the 10x10. we will cover the top in welded wire with a tarp over 1/2 of it. To keep the food outside and dry.

I don't have pictures yet of the other trio.

Sounds familiar, Bruce. I tossed my last broody out of the broody buster after two days in order to put a beat up rooster in it so he could get some peace and quiet and hopefully heal. The evicted broody is back on the nest again. I pulled her out twice and begged her to give me a break....she did....and went back into a different nesting box.

Some times you just can't win.

Beautiful birds, @CapricornFarm. Aren't Seramas the birds with the fatal gene?

My bantam roosters are driving me nuts and evidently, the other chickens also. Saw two BBR roosters come screaming out of the coop hot on the tail of Jester. He's the confused one who tries to mate anything except a bantam hen. I imagine he tried to have his way with one of them and they wanted no part of it. Smart birds. I was able to snare them as they ran by me so he could get away.

The Diesel tank is getting moved out of the front half of my coop shed meaning I'll have room to enclose another room. Thinking of tossing the bantams into it...or at least the bantam roosters.
