Hey who here has done asparagus I am going to try this for the first time ..
I know I plant them 4 inches deep that is where it ends need some advice please.
Start them indoors ? outside where I want them grow ?

If I remember right when I planted mine the instructions said to keep adding soil on top of them periodically after the initial planting. 4 inches deep sounds about right. Kind of like mounding potatoes. My bed is about three years old now. I don't do much with it other than pick the asparagus and munch on it while I'm working in the yard. It's delicious raw.

I've finally found a place for my grandparents!

Your grandparents are still alive? Whow, lucky you. I'm jealous. My grandparents were never really close with my brother and myself. Didn't want to get close to my mom's parents and my dad's mom was too far away.

I can't remember the details of when and how much, Penny. I remember dumping some dirt over the bed a couple of times and going, 'live or die, I'm done' and quit adding dirt. Not one of my finer horticultural moments in time. I really need to go out and pull the grass and give the bed a fighting chance to expand.

Yeah, they live close by so they get stuck with me and my brother a lot. They love watching the fur babies when where can't bring them (aka when I can't smuggle them lol)
I haven't seen my mom's parents in like five years, they're up in Montana though.

Your very fortunate to have them close.. My Grandma had me from when I was 3 till I was 8
