The Old Folks Home

IF you have a safe opportunity, spray "sevin" on wasps, it kills them fast (keep away from honey bees though).Sevin powder works even better if you can "pouff" some on them. I cut the tip back more on an applicator bottle and "pouffed sevin on them. They died in a hurry.

Our storm windows don't fit tight and had wasps making nests in between the window panes. I was fighting them mightily, and luckily not stung once :fl. I don't know why. I used an empty pill bottle to flatten any that were near my hands, they didn't try to attack me :idunno. Maybe I just smell too bad to bother with. After that I haven't noticed any more wasps moving in. Probably just went some where else I haven't discovered yet.
You can smoke wasps to stun them , then get rid of the nest. I hate to use chemicals if I don't have to. Our honey bees that pollinate food are in trouble.

Alaskan, thank you for the info about virtual schooling. 2 of my grands are signed up for virtual schooling this year. The youngest starts VPK, and there is no way to get around actual classroom attendance for it. They do kindergarten up, online, but not VPK.

Dh began scrambling about enough computers for everyone, on such short notice. Remember, we just spent quite a bit upgrading mine.

I mentioned that the oldest child has been using my laptop, so not a problem. Dh complained that lately it's been overheating, AND he was unsure about the webcam. He opened it up, and one of the two fans is dead. He'll get a replacement fan, and it will be fine. The webcam, on the other hand, is useless. There are no Windows 10 compatible drivers for it. Last year, Dd #1 had to buy a new webcam for her laptop, for her college courses. It cost about $25.00, and works just fine. We're going to get one like it for my laptop.

The middle grandchild, can use her mother's laptop for now. Her mother studies at night, so that solves that problem, for now. I reminded him that all the old components from my computer, before the upgrade, still work just fine, and they're not outdated. We can rebuild it, and one of the kids can have it. All we need is a tower, power supply, processor fan, and a webcam.

Get a good spray bottle, that shoots a decent distance. Make up some good soapy dishwater, and fill the spray bottle. Now go get those wasps. The soapy water stops them on contact, and kills them shortly, without the harsh poisons. My ex son-in-law does landscaping for a company, and they use this all the time. It works.

I am happy to hear that you were able to get rid of them!

AC kept kicking on and off all night long. Didn't open any windows.
Yeah we’ve been keeping the house shut up which seems to help some and have some fans on to spread the air around (we just have one window unit in atm) which keeps it pretty cool inside but the second you step outside you’re mugged 😂🤣🥵
