You can smoke wasps to stun them , then get rid of the nest. I hate to use chemicals if I don't have to. Our honey bees that pollinate food are in trouble.IF you have a safe opportunity, spray "sevin" on wasps, it kills them fast (keep away from honey bees though).Sevin powder works even better if you can "pouff" some on them. I cut the tip back more on an applicator bottle and "pouffed sevin on them. They died in a hurry.
Our storm windows don't fit tight and had wasps making nests in between the window panes. I was fighting them mightily, and luckily not stung once. I don't know why. I used an empty pill bottle to flatten any that were near my hands, they didn't try to attack me
. Maybe I just smell too bad to bother with. After that I haven't noticed any more wasps moving in. Probably just went some where else I haven't discovered yet.
