The Old Folks Home

Sorry to hear about the headache and nausea. Hope you aren't coming down with something again. That would be no bueno. I didn't think the debate was that bad. Watched most of it and thought they both scored points. I also think they both avoided answering some of the questions. More theater for the voting public.

I know politics is forbidden on here, I'll tread lightly so we don't get shut down. I was saddened that neither of them seemed to be able to actually answer the questions posed and stay on topic. Neither appeared to have good manners and in fact both embarrassed me at points during the debate. I realize a lot is at stake for both of them, but I would have been more impressed if they had been clear, concise and mature. I also think it's a bit silly some of the questions they're forced to answer - to me I don't think the president is that important - it's not a dictatorship and really they don't have that much power thanks to checks and balances.

Anyway, I found my first casualty of the earthquake - I went upstairs to change the sheets in the guest rooms, and one of the rooms has a door that is very difficult to get shut - it always seems kinda stuck due to rubbing against the frame. It now slides perfectly into the frame. Win!

I just will comment once on the debate here..and I will just say...well said scg...

And, glad your door got fixed! How about that? lol...

Not to offend but, no matter who you're for or against, I just got this email and thought it was funny:

It's real bad for Obama.
I just saw a guy scraping a Obama bumper sticker off his car. It was Joe Biden.

^Funny post! (I am currenty having the same issue Wisher had last week while I am at work so no emoticons for me)

It wasn't anywhere near that good.

In the dream we had an earthquake, and the earth opened up right outside my chicken coop pop door - this huge, deep crevice. Zombies were crawling up out of it. I ran out of ammo and left BF here shooting them while I went and bought an AK47 because it was still legal.

Fixed door!!! One less little annoyance.

I missed the debate. Sometimes I think they are totally going after the swing votes--stir the emotions, and encourage people to get off the fence. Can't get this election over with soon enough. Heard on the news they are spending $1 billion in advertising. Hope some of that money trickles down to those in need.

What's up with that?

Mine's working.
Wisher, mine is fine at home as well. Not sure why it is not working quite right at work? Can't really raise the question since it is WORK.

I had another phone interview yesterday and I have one more on Monday for the job. These are/were with a couple of VP's in charge of different parts of the program. The one yesterday went really well. Most of the time was spent with the guy making sure I understood what I was getting in to if I get the job. The other guy is on vacation and that is why I can't interview with him until Monday. I am pretty sure I am going to get the job. The VP of HR talked to my boss yesterday and she was surprised that I hadn't been offered the job yet so I am "assuming" that word back at our headquarters is that I am getting the job. I think these last two phone interviews are just so that the VP's get a chance to get to know me a little better before the final "nod". I am pretty sure that I should get the offer next week after the last interview.

Sorry, Arielle, I think it's always been saying "please, please, please, please, please, please, please" !

D - I am so excited for you! Will the company pay for the move? Will they fly you out a time or two to look for your new farm? Do you know anyone there (from before) that can start making a list of places to look at when you go? Maybe you can get up with a BYCer in that area that can help you. I know I would do that for you if you were moving here. At the very least, ask around the company there for the best realtor in the area, it really makes a huge difference if you get a good one. A good one will listen to what you want and not tell you, "That's going to be hard to find, wouldn't you rather look at this nice 3/2 in an established neighborhood?" Ughhh!
