The Old Folks Home

At 60??? :eek:That's ridiculous and obviously a rip-off. You can get these in heaps for just a few Euro here in Germany.
What general area of Germany are you in? Has winter set in solid?

Our temps have been annoying... fluctuating around freezing... worst temps since I hate ice.

Our temps are dropping constantly now and winds picking up, at night still around 0°C.
Starting to get the heaters ready for the chicken waterers.

I can remember those hollow chocolate Christmas tree ornaments. Whow! Haven't thought about those things in years. How about those delicate hand blown ornaments shaped like Santa and Reindeer? Ever priced those things on Ebay?

I had an uncle who worked at one of the big chocolate factories in Pennsylvania. One visit there he took my brother and me there with two big paper grocery bags, disappeared and the next time we saw him he handed us the bags back, 2/3rds full of those foil wrapped Christmas themed chocolate.

I think we ate chocolate out of those bags for over a year!

How is everyone today? I got a good night's sleep so I spent the day cleaning. Yeah I know, Yipeeee!

Eta hasn't fizzled, and died yet, so they say to expect some weather. Of course, it's picked back up to being a Cat 1 hurricane, BUT they think when it gets closer to the coast, the dry air, will decrease it back down to a tropical storm again, and it should continue to downgrade once it makes landfall. It seems to be one of those "definitely maybe" calls. We put up some plywood panels on one side of the coop. That will protect them from the brunt of the wind. I'm glad it has not turned cold. I don't have to be concerned about them getting wet, all the wind, and cold temps at the same time.
