My mother was born in Minnesota and we moved there many times. I never ate the snow. But DH went and took the top layer of snow off our table in the back yard to make the ice cream with. lol
I do know about yellow snow. And it was late in the day so alot of the junk in the air had been cleaned out.

Ha, I was going to say..no yellow snow, but I figured that was a given. That makes sense, wait for it to snow a bit, then just get the snow from the top. Hope it was yummy for him!

When I was looking to buy a house around here a number of years ago I discovered that the houses that had land for farming also had a barn attached to the house. I couldn't really figure that one out - doesn't it smell and track in the house? I don't need a barn attached to the house.

Now every morning I go down the stairs to the garage, put my boots, jacket, hat and gloves on, grab the food buckets, traipse out of the garage and slip and slide (in winter) across the ice in my crampons over my driveway to the chicken coop, duck house and goat haus. Then I slip and slide back down the hill to the garage where I remove my boots, jacket, hat, gloves, and fill the buckets back up for the evening run. I then trudge back upstairs, and track stuff into the house from the rug at the bottom of the stairs.

So glad my barn isn't attached to the house. I really dodged a bullet there.

The other day I couldn't figure out why there were blueberries on the floor of the kitchen - I thought I ate all the frozen ones we had left. Turned out they were goat berries. I guess I missed some on the porch last time the goats hung out there, and BF brought them in on the bottom of his feet when he came in that door.

It's so romantic living on the farm.

You guys with cows - I am really jealous. How many do you have, what kinds, and how long have you had them? I don't have enough room for a cow until I get my house with the barn attached to it, so until then I'll have to settle for goat milk (once I get to that point).

I did it is very beautiful there alot of farm land and country. We went boating on the lakes every day one summer we were there. I liked the snow but after awhile I was ready to go back home to Cali.

He loved it and said he only gets it here about every 10 years.

We have 4 cows right now.

So glad you made it safely the roads do look bad. Be careful going back. Chilins looks so precious when they are sleeping.
