The Old Folks Home

Afternoon, Old Folks.
I pretty much lost a year. Work has been so busy.

I'm 12 days out from my first Moderna shot, hoping that that's the ticket out of this mess.

I don't really have much of an update for you guys, other than all the hours I've worked in 2020. I still have the goats (can I interest anyone in some goats?!), the poultry, the bees, the disgusting dog and the cats. I spent most of my non-work time this summer in the graveyards, and what little non-work time I've had this fall/winter where I've had power, finishing up some sewing projects that I started in 2019 and never got to in 2020  I've still been doing CrossFit and running 6 days a week which reduces my COVID/work stress and over the last year lost 45 lbs total (gained a bunch in muscle though so I'm not really sure total fat loss). I can't squat a Buick yet, but that's on my list of goals for 2021 :lau

Here's to hoping the public health crisis ends soon :fl
Love the update...

My Boys are not in the graceful category either..

They knocked over the Christmas tree, and 1. they were not rough housing
2. We had tied the tree to the wall!!

Reminded me why we no longer use important ornaments.... and why we now have a straw angel. Yep,she bounces just fine!

Oh... good... grief...so, we are all in the living room/kitchen ... some kids are scrounging leftovers.... one kid is waxing his snowboard on the dining room table...

Parents sipping coffee...

I tell them all to be completely silent... so I can listen, because I thought I heard something squeak... but maybe it is my intermittent tinnitus. :idunno

They are all quiet,I tell them huh... I thought I heard something sqeak... but now I don't hear it... carry on...

And kid #3 says oh no, you must have heard the mouse in the black bucket.

What? Says I

Kid #3, " the mouse in the black bucket"

"WHICH black bucket? Where is it?" I asked

Kid #3 "right there" and points to the adjacent, door wide open, mud porch.

Kid #2 goes and looks "THATS a mouse? Good grief! It is HUGE. Actually, its a vole"

Then he walks off.

"Well, go kill the vole" I say

"Eh, he isn't going anywhere, he is finishing up the feed in the bucket"

Think of the grandkids they need to enjoy life

:th

Argument ensues.....

They want to use a crossbow... but there is also a metal bowl in the bucket, and I do NOT want a hole in the bowl, or the bucket.

Ok... they have found the blow gun... that will work... but the mouth piece of the blow gun has run off...

Ah... now they have set up a cardboard target to brush up on their blow dart skills.

It is good to see you!

Al, I was going to ask for a kid update but I think I'm good with the vole story.
Yep... yep..

They killed it with the blow dart... then tossed it outside and killed it again with the crossbow...

Now 3 of them are going skiing and snowboarding...

All 5 are back home... I refuse to spend money for a dorm and a meal plan, when college kid (#2) wouldn't be allowed to socialize or attend real classes.. so he is home doing all classes on line. He does hang out with a few friends, but almost 100% on the beach with masks...
