I found Gator at the Pensacola Humane society.. his original owner was in the military and got shipped off overseas. Gator was not supposed to be 'dog friendly' but brought home all kinds of pals when we were down in Seminole. He's like you said, been one of the best dogs I've ever had, except he's my pal. He'll lay in the brooder room next to the babies as though he's babysitting. He's respectful of the chickens, and Prince really must like him. When I was younger, we had a dog that looked similar to yours. His name was Copper. He was just a mutt, but one of the best dogs we ever owned.
I surely would love a rack of lamb from Outback if they still serve it. Can't find lamb around here to save myself. May have to drive down to Crestview where there's a publix just to get some lamb.I got all ready to go to my Dr. appointment. Dh informed me they were having a boat parade for the Tampa Bay Bucs, in honor of them winning the Super Bowl. Oh heck no. I'm not getting into all that mess. When I called, they let me know I was not alone, that everyone was cancelling their appointments. It's not like the Bucs had won, or this was scheduled back when I made the appointment. Dh took me to Outback instead.
