We use Bio Spot treatment on our dogs. I usually spray myself down if I know I'm going to be in the timber but Farrah dying caught me off guard.Welcome to my world. I check the dogs every day, sometimes twice. I pull the ticks off and put them in a water bottle and put the cap back on.
We got a letter here from the MO. Dept of Conservation urging us to save ticks and mail them to the Dept as they are doing a study on the different types of ticks in MO and what pathogens they are carrying.
My husband said, just invite them over and have them walk trough our timber. They will have all the ticks they need for their 'bleeping' study.
I had hung a few pairs of jeans outside a couple of days ago and brought them in last night. There was a tick on one of them. The majority of ticks are hanging on the underside of leaves and blades of grass but I personally watched one making a beeline for my hand while I stood leaning against a tree. I once had a person on another forum tell me that was impossible. I told them not only had I seen them on trunks of trees but also on the supports in our barns.
I said nobody explained 'impossible' to the ticks we have around here.
