medicine is not an exact science, and doctors are only human.

And half of them graduated in the bottom half of their class

had a break in the weather - relatively cool today.

Here too. Low 90's 2 days ago, mid 70's yesterday, probably won't even make 65 today and tomorrow.

Pool (for DW) finally got up to high 70's low 80's in the high heat we had. Will probably drop a lot the next few nights and days. Can't get a solar cover, another Covid hit.

I was going to mention that my processor had arrived. He didn't forget to order thermal paste. Before I could mention it on here, Dh woke up. I told him my new processor was here, and to put it in. He said he needed to wake up. I told him he had 5 minutes, and did he want a cup of coffee to help. (He doesn't drink coffee.) He gave me this "look" with a grin.

In a few minutes he got down on the floor, to put in my processor. The first thing he mentioned was the inside of my computer was dusty. (DUH!) He unhooked everything, took it outside, and blew it out. Now, it's perfectly clean. He installed the new processor, and replaced the processor fan. Once everything was reconnected, I booted it up. It is working beautifully.

I opened the Ryzen Master program, to check temps, and stress test it. Um, this processor is not supported. I had to download a new Ryzen Master program that supports this processor. Stress testing went great, and all temps are stable, even under high usage.

For the record: Dh was reading about Windows 11. When it first rolls out, his computer will work, but within a few months there is something they're going to change, turn off, whatever. At that point, his computer will no longer work, with out an upgrade.

Armed with this information, and after some research, he discovered I still have one of the best motherboards available, and it will work wonderfully with Windows 11. We have an extra set of RAM. The only other thing he needed was a processor. He ordered the newer, faster one for me, and is going to use my current one.

It used to be that he was all into the latest, greatest of tech. Now, he's perfectly content with the way his computer is set up, and can't really justify the expense. My computer is hooked into, not just my 4k UHD monitor, but into the 4k UHD, big screen tv too. Instead of a separate DVD/Blue Ray (4k UHD) player, I run all media on my computer, into the Amp, which runs it into the tv, and surround sound speakers, as a secondary monitor. It takes quite a bit of computing power to do that, especially when it's real 4k UHD content. In other words, as I'm typing this, and watching it on my desktop monitor, I'm also watching a movie, from my computer, on the big screen tv. This is the reason we keep my computer more advanced, and upgraded.

Just got a probable scam call from "Medicare". Needed to know if I had gotten the new Medicare card, the one from 2019 needs to be replaced. Now why would I need a new one given I've only had it 3 months?

They knew my name including middle initial, address. Missed the birthday by 9 days. I might have given them enough info to guess at it since I said didn't have a 2019 card since I wasn't eligible until this year and got the card in March.

The guy even said it isn't a scam when I started to question him. Said they wouldn't ask for my Medicare or SSN, they already had all the info being as they are "Medicare". I told him to just send the card. He said they need to verify all the info before they can send the card. I don't know what the scam is because I shut him down at that point.

So old folks, beware the scum that call!

Bruce, I'm glad you caught on to the scam, and didn't give out any information. Yes, in today's age, there are too many of these type scams. Glad you didn't fall prey to it.

T-Mobile, ATT and Verizon have a new scam system setup. It is working very well so far! I either have phone calls auto blocked or screened as a likely scam. Most numbers that are not marked as a scam now identify the caller too.

I can then block those phone numbers.
