Feeling my age after hoeing in the heavy soil garden for about 5 hours today. I whacked the grass tops off, pulled some, and gathered it all up and got it out of there.
Still waiting for the tomatoes to start turning red. Something -- probably a deer -- ate the top off the jalapeno plant.

It had flowers just about to blossom.
There are 4 mature oak trees we're going to have removed. DH is very competent with a chainsaw, but these are leaning over the house, and he wants no part to dealing with them, and I agree. It won't be cheap, but we've used these guys before on another big oak that was leaning over the house, and they were very good. They can't get a crane back here, so they'll be sending a climbing crew. I'll watch and take pictures like I did last time.
