The Old Folks Home

Good morning everyone. Drinking my first cup of coffee, and took my vitamins. Still not ready to set the world on fire.
I didn't exactly set the world on fire this morning, but I finally got over to the area I call Roxy's Park this morning. I haven't cut it since before the stroke so had to fire up the Cub Cadet with the 'blade' extension and work a while. An hour later and a tank of gas used I managed to get a bit done. Weeds over there were as tall as I am.

It's one of the last areas of the land that I cleared. Funny, when all the trees, brambles, briars and kudza came down there wasn't a bit of ground cover, just seeds waiting on sunlight.

Still have a long way to go but.... I'm working on it. There's an elderberry patch in there. Can you see it on the left?

This is the first patch I discovered when I was clearing land. I've been carefully cultivating it. Only letting new growth to start at a certain distance from old growth.

Still have this to get to with the Remington. Only two weeks growth but it's got to be done. I'll start on it Sunday or maybe not, depending on the weather. It's still cool out this morning and partially cloudy so I might could get some done after feeding the kids.

Ugh..cool front just dropped a cloud of stinky smoke on Salt Lake..I’ll just pretend it’s the second shot…
Ive solved my upside down picture posting/…you don’t have to downsize your pics, it’s automatic..if you downsize, then it posts upside down..

I got the chicken wire on the roof of the run addition, and HC on the triangles where the new roof line and old roof line don't match. I still need to add a bunch of zip ties to secure things, but I had to stop because Mother Nature is blessing us with some much needed rain. It looks and sounds like it might go on for a while, so maybe an afternoon cup of coffee will be in order. Anyone else?

I have three kinds of elderberries planted, I thought they didn’t make it, but, they appear to be fine. I know one is Alesso, or something like that. I probably got them from Raintree nursery, they have a big selection of stuff, if you’re looking for more, or a different pollinator variety..
