The Old Folks Home

I managed to successfully incorporate some 15 week olds in with the 12 week old chicks. My trick was moving the older ones into the pen with the younger ones who had already established their territory. The older pullets were now in unfamiliar territory and would take some time to get accustomed to. Still there was the scraps and squabbles, but they all do fine together now.
I can open the gate between the 2 areas it's been closed off so they know that they are there do you think that would work?

When I get excited about turning out chickens then I know I'm bored
Talk about excited! This will melt your heart! My friend Amanda loaned me this show girl chick to keep my little guy company. Took a few minutes then POW! Can we be friends?
Then it got quiet in there... I went to see what happened, and they were both sacked out dreaming away. First time Lone took a nap.

They do! Find yourself some friends in the local area and spend some time learning about them and their chooks. Amanda came and took care of my flock and Gator while I was in the hospital in may. She's a chook savvy gal, and also broke the last chick out of the egg when she felt it had been too long since pipping with no further action.

I never knew there was something like flying ant day! I came home from visiting DH and left the chickens out for exercise and they fanned across the yard as of they were eating worms but there were no worms. Then I saw all these ant hills all over the yard covered in flies. The chickens always stay close to me but all of a sudden there was no boundaries until it poured rain. All my years I never saw the air so full of flies.
flying ants here are termites. They swarm up and fly in the Spring though.
Gooooooood Morning OF. Meet the Lone Ranger, fresh outta da oven! Since he's out of my Buff Orpington hen and K.E. , I wing sexed him. HIM! what did I tell ya. The only egg to hatch out of 13 and it would probably be a roo! He got his daddy's leg feathering.

Is he a sexlinked cross? If not, then there is hope on the gender. You only get about 70% accuracy for them.
